Car Financing
How Car Financing Works in Kenya

Car financing in Kenya generally follows five steps: choosing a vehicle, agreeing a deposit, submitting documentation, receiving lender approval, and finally registration and collection.
Once you've selected a vehicle, the dealership or lender will calculate the amount to be financed after your deposit. This is the figure interest is charged on over your chosen loan term.
Lenders assess affordability based on your income, existing obligations and the requested loan term. Approval timelines vary from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the lender.
After approval, the logbook is typically held by the financier as security until the loan is fully repaid, at which point ownership transfers fully to you.
Understanding this process in advance means fewer surprises — and Urban Drive's team can guide you through each step alongside our financing partners.
